Jean-Paul Castro is an Immigration Attorney at Colombo & Hurd. He earned his J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Mr. Castro also holds a Major in Journalism and Finance at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Jean-Paul decided to practice Immigration Law since his experiences in law school showed him the needs of the immigrant communities, the complexities of the U.S. immigration system, and the urge for effective legal representation.
He began his career as a trial attorney in the Miami Immigration Court. There, he had the chance to represent dozens of clients and obtain immigration reliefs that benefited families and changed lives forever.
During his college years, he participated in multiple law journals where he had the chance to publish two articles on business law and probate law. He also participated in the Immigration Clinic of the University of Puerto Rico, served as president of the National Law Students Association of Puerto Rico, and attended Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, Spain, where he took courses in international law and business law.
He participated as a columnist for major Puerto Rican newspapers such as El Nuevo Día and El Vocero.
Jean-Paul a member of the Puerto Rico Bar, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Mr. Castro is fluent in English and Spanish.
In his free time, Jean-Paul like to cook, go to the movies, and spend time with his cat.
