About Colombo & Hurd

Immigration Law for Decisions That Shape Your Future

At Colombo & Hurd, we help accomplished professionals, founders, and entrepreneurs build their future in the United States.

At this level, immigration is not just paperwork. It is consequential. It shapes careers, companies, and families for decades to come. Behind every petition is a person making an important decision about their future. We understand what is at stake, and we approach each case with care, responsibility, and a genuine respect for the trust placed in us.

With over two decades of experience, our work is strengthened by firm-wide collaboration and informed by a practical understanding of how employment-based and investor-based immigration decisions are actually made. Every day, we guide individuals whose work, and lives, extend far beyond a single filing.

Who We Are and How We Approach Immigration Law

Founded in 2006, Colombo & Hurd has grown into a global law firm of more than 400 professionals, including over 35 U.S. immigration attorneys. We represent clients from over 100 countries and advise on high-skilled, employment-based immigration pathways, including self-sponsored options like EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) and EB-1A, as well as investor visa pathways.

As a firm built by immigrants, we bring lived experience to this work. Many of our attorneys and team members have personally navigated the immigration system themselves. That experience shapes how we communicate and how we guide clients through decisions that carry both emotional and legal weight.

Our firm has earned the AV® Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest distinction for legal ability and ethical standards, along with an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. Our attorneys are frequently featured in national media as trusted voices on immigration law and policy.

Our work is defined by disciplined analysis, collective strategic judgment, and years of focused practice in high-skilled immigration. Experience is shared across the firm, continuously refined, and brought to each case with care.

Immigration Law Practiced with Judgment and Accountability

High-skilled immigration requires careful preparation, strong positioning, and a clear understanding of how cases are evaluated. Successful outcomes depend on how evidence is developed, how records are structured, and how current standards are applied.

With decades of experience handling high-skilled and investor immigration cases at scale, we have visibility into how adjudication trends evolve: where expectations are increasing, how interpretations shift, and which types of work are gaining attention.

That insight allows us to evaluate each client’s background in light of current priorities and structure their case appropriately so their experience, impact, and trajectory align with what adjudicating officers are looking for.

Our clients work directly with attorneys who remain deeply involved throughout the entire process. We explain decisions in context. We discuss risks and considerations honestly. And we adjust strategy when facts, timing, or review standards change.

We prepare cases to meet rigorous USCIS review standards and guide our clients with the clarity needed to move forward, even as policies, priorities, and adjudication trends evolve.

Values That Guide Our Work

Integrity

We hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards. When decisions carry long-term impact, it is our responsibility to prepare thoroughly, explain risk honestly, and stand behind the work. That commitment to clarity, accountability, and disciplined preparation guides every case we take on.

Excellence

For us, excellence is disciplined preparation. Every petition, evidentiary strategy, and recommendation reflects careful analysis of current standards, emerging trends, and the specific profile in front of us. We are deeply invested in staying ahead of how immigration law is interpreted, applied, and enforced in practice.

Foresight

Our attorneys actively monitor outcomes across thousands of employment-based cases and share insight firm-wide. This ensures our case preparation and recommendations reflect how adjudication standards are being applied now and helps clients benefit from a collective, up-to-date understanding of review patterns.

Teamwork

Our work is collaborative by design. Attorneys regularly share insight across cases, practice areas, and stages of review, so complex questions are examined from multiple perspectives before decisions are made.

Each case benefits from the collective experience of the firm, strengthening strategy and reducing avoidable risk for our clients.

Commitment

We take responsibility for how each petition is prepared and handled. Our clients rely on us for thoughtful, measured guidance when decisions carry significant weight.

As standards evolve or additional review is required, we remain engaged, prepared, and accountable. This commitment is reflected in the rigor of our preparation, the persistence with which we address challenges, and the care with which we guide clients through complex decisions over time.

Communication

Clear, proactive communication is foundational to how we work. We are available throughout what can be a complex process, ensuring clients feel informed and supported at every stage.

We help clients understand not only the next step, but the reasoning behind each decision. Questions are answered with context, and expectations are set early, revisited as circumstances evolve, and adjusted with full transparency.

Experience Built on Depth and Results

With more than 20 years of experience in immigration law, our attorneys combine deep legal knowledge with practical insight to guide clients through complex, high-stakes matters.

Our track record includes:

  • More than 2,500 EB-2 NIW and EB-1A petitions approved since 2023 alone
  • A 100% approval rate for EB-5 visas
  • Clients represented from over 100 countries

A Culture Shaped by Responsibility and Care

Colombo & Hurd was built by immigrants, and that foundation continues to shape how we practice law. We understand the weight of uncertainty, the cost of delay, and what approval can mean for a family.

Our culture is collaborative and deliberate. Cases are approached as team efforts, drawing on the collective insight of attorneys, former government professionals, and experienced staff so that clients benefit not just from expertise, but from shared judgment and accountability.

We embrace innovation where it improves clarity, and precision where it strengthens outcomes.

Most importantly, we see immigration as stewardship, not a transaction: a responsibility to guide, to advocate, and to stand alongside clients as circumstances shift and decisions unfold.
