Rusten C. Hurd

Mr. Hurd is a founding partner at the immigration law firm of Colombo & Hurd, PL, specializing in immigration workers’ compensation and appellate law. With respect to his immigration practice, Mr. Hurd devotes a substantial portion of his time to assisting clients obtain fiancé and marriage visas. As the husband of an immigrant, Mr. Hurd is fully cognizant of the importance of this process to his clients.

Alessandro Giordano

Alessandro Giordano

Alessandro Giordano is an experienced immigration attorney and a member of the Florida and New York State bars. A native of Italy, Mr. Giordano has first-hand experience with the challenges of the U.S. immigration system. As such, he takes great pride in helping his clients achieve their American Dream and in changing their lives for the better. Mr. Giordano handles all types of immigration cases, providing representation to businesses and individuals in removal defense, family-based, and business and employment based matters.

Michael Mendez

Michael Mendez is a partner at the immigration law firm of Colombo & Hurd, PL who leads the firm’s immigration deportation section and also focuses on appeals, defense of immigration cases involving criminal matters, naturalization and family petitions. Mr. Mendez is uniquely qualified to represent clients in deportation proceedings, appeals and other immigration matters involving past criminal records, since Mr. Mendez worked for the Public Defender’s Office of the Ninth Judicial Circuit, where he obtained valuable skills with regard to criminal defense law.

Minisha B. Patel

Minisha was admitted to practice law in North Carolina in 2014. Ms. Patel joined Colombo & Hurd in 2016. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Patel worked as a business immigration attorney for a Los Angeles based immigration firm where she handled employment-based visa petitions for specialty occupation (H-1) and the transfer of managers, executives, and specialized knowledge employees to offices in the United States (L-1). Her experience also includes preparing Requests for Evidence responses and Motions to Reconsider, as well as PERM applications and TN visas. Ms. Patel’s experiences enable her to analyze a variety of complex legal issues and have helped her develop a strong background in legal research and writing. Ms. Patel has passion for helping her clients and is dedicated to assisting them in their immigration matters. Being a first generation herself, she understands the value of immigration laws and hopes to help her clients pursue their dream of coming to and remaining in the United States. Ms. Patel is fluent in Hindi and Gujarati and is a trained and certified Guardian Ad Litem.
