Nicolas Vargas joined Colombo and Hurd in 2021 and is admitted to the New York State Bar. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Vargas was an Assistant District Attorney at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. Mr. Vargas has extensive trial experience, having successfully tried a wide variety of cases. He managed hundreds of cases, exercised independent judgment, drafted various motions, and conducted long-term investigations. He successfully presented multiple violent felonies before the grand jury including robberies and strangulations.
Mr. Vargas graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2017 where he was an Articles Editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. There, he worked with multiple immigrants and refugees while volunteering at the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition.
Mr. Vargas graduated cum laude from the University of Florida in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minors in History and Italian Studies.
Mr. Vargas was born in Colombia and immigrated to the United States at an early age. He is a native Spanish speaker.
