Nicolas Vargas
Immigration Attorney
Nicolas Vargas is an attorney who graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School, a member of the New York State Bar. Before he studied law, he obtained a degree in Political Sciences at the University of Florida.
Currently, he practices immigration law at Colombo & Hurd, focusing on employment-based petitions.
Mr. Vargas was born in Bogota, Colombia, but he moved to the United States when he was only 8 years. In addition to English, he’s fluent in Spanish.
On a daily basis, he enjoys talking with his clients and knowing their trajectories, which it’s possible thanks to his job. He also likes to know the goals of his clients and the sacrifices they make to emigrate because it’s the same he lived with his family when he moved to the U.S.
He decided to study law because he was always interested in defending people which needs help. He began his career working at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where he handled several cases and realized successful investigations of different felonies.
Then, he wanted to focus on immigration law to represent people who want to immigrate to the United States in search of a better future, as it is something he and his family experienced firsthand.
During his days at university, he was an Articles Editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law.
He also worked with multiple immigrants and refugees while volunteering at the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition.
