A graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School, he earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Florida. At Colombo and Hurd, Mr. Vargas focuses on employment-based immigration petitions, helping clients navigate complex legal processes with insight shaped by his own immigration journey. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, he immigrated to the United States with his family at age eight, giving him firsthand understanding of the challenges and aspirations his clients face. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Mr. Vargas is passionate about learning his clients' stories and understanding their goals. He finds deep meaning in representing individuals and families pursuing better opportunities in the United States, having experienced similar hopes and sacrifices with his own family. Before specializing in immigration law, Mr. Vargas began his legal career at the prestigious Manhattan District Attorney's Office, where he successfully handled investigations across various felony cases. This experience in criminal law provided him with strong litigation skills and a commitment to justice that he now applies to immigration advocacy. During law school, Mr. Vargas served as Articles Editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law and volunteered with the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition, working directly with immigrants and refugees. These experiences reinforced his dedication to using law as a tool for helping those seeking protection and opportunity in America. Mr. Vargas chose to pursue law driven by his desire to advocate for people who need legal representation, and he continues to find fulfillment in helping clients achieve their immigration goals.
