Marina Renom is an immigration attorney at Colombo & Hurd. As an immigrant from Argentina, she has many years of experience dealing with the U.S. immigration system. Marina has helped international companies, professionals, and investors through most types of U.S. immigration matters by taking the time to understand their goals to help them reach their full potential in the United States.
Marina graduated cum laude from Florida State University with a double major in Psychology and International Relations. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Florida International University College of Law in December 2017. During her time at Florida International University College of Law, Marina served as the President of the Family Law Society, the Philanthropy Chair of the Women’s Law Society, and the Secretary of the Society of Immigrant Advocates. While there, Marina also volunteered at the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic where she worked in immigration and dependency cases under the supervision of licensed attorneys. Upon her graduation, Marina was honored with an Excellence in Civic Engagement Medallion of Distinction for her work at the FIU Clinics.
During law school, Marina also worked at two prestigious immigration law firms where she researched and drafted briefs for all types of immigration cases, including asylum, VAWA, U visas, waivers, cancellation of removal, family petitions, and employment-based visas. She also helped prepare clients for immigration court hearings, USCIS interviews, and ICE check-ins.
After earning her Juris Doctor degree, Marina worked as a Business Immigration Attorney, with a focus on EB-1, EB-2, Labor Certifications, O-1, L1, and E-2 visas. Marina has also represented clients in civil litigation in the areas of finance, real estate, and contract disputes.
In her free time, Marina is a food enthusiast. Her husband and she enjoy eating out so much that in 2019 they opened a traditional sushi restaurant in the heart of Wynwood.
