Partner

Wil Safrit is a Partner at Colombo & Hurd and an Immigration Attorney focused on employment-based immigration, with more than six years of experience in high-skilled immigrant petitions, particularly EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) and other I-140 filings. His work centers on the preparation and review of these petitions, where he focuses on evaluating case viability, strengthening evidentiary records, and structuring filings to meet USCIS adjudication standards.

Mr. Safrit developed an interest in immigration law during law school after attending a naturalization ceremony, where he was struck by the human dimension of the process and the significance it holds for individuals and families. This experience continues to inform his approach to his practice.

He has extensive experience in the preparation and review of complex immigration matters, with a focus on structuring petitions that accurately reflect a client’s professional background within the applicable legal framework. He works closely with clients throughout the process, providing clear guidance and ensuring that complex requirements are communicated in a practical and accessible way. As a result, he has successfully obtained approvals across numerous filings, working with professionals from a wide range of industries and technical fields.

Mr. Safrit also serves as Lead NIW Review Counsel at Colombo & Hurd, where he oversees the firm’s NIW petition review process and contributes to maintaining quality and consistency across all filings. He works closely with legal teams to assess case readiness, provide strategic feedback, and ensure alignment with internal review standards.

Before joining Colombo & Hurd, Mr. Safrit practiced at an immigration law firm where he handled I-140 petitions, further developing his experience in employment-based immigration and complex case preparation.
